The First Signs of Pregnancy
As we all know not every soon to be a mom has the same pregnancy symptoms and not every pregnancy is the same. Symptoms may vary from woman to woman, and many factors lessen or worsen the symptoms. There are common symptoms that are quite common and well-known such as the absence of your menstrual cycle and weight gain.
There are a few other possible signs of pregnancy:
- Increased urination
- Darkened areolas
- Fatigue
- Nausea or morning sickness
- Mood changes
- Implantation bleeding
- Intense low backache
- Headaches
- Breast tenderness
There are a few strange early pregnancy symptoms that barely anyone knows about like headaches or feeling like you are tasting metal all the time, but with pregnancy, you do not know what you can expect, so here are a few of those signs:
1. You have an odd vaginal discharge
The reason for women to have such discharge is due to an increase in your hormone levels and vaginal flow. This increases when you are pregnant in order to avoid infections while your cervix and vaginal wall soften. But there are a few red flags that will let you know that you must go to a doctor and these are:
- Foul smell
- Burning sensation
- Continual itch
- Your vaginal discharge turns greenish-yellow
- The discharge becomes very thick or watery
If you notice these symptoms then there may be an infection, so it would be best if you could make an appointment with your OB/GYN.
2. Your body will not know its own temperature
When you are ovulating your body temperature rises a bit until your period arrives. But if your basal temperature stays at that same temperature for over two weeks, then you might be pregnant.
3. You will have such strong, headaches, then you may have some cramping, and you will want to pee at all times
The volume of your hormones and blood changes when you are pregnant, so this can lead to headaches.
A few women experience cramps as if you were on your period on either side of your lower abdomen. The reason for this is because your growing uterus keeps putting pressure on your bladder.
4. The room keeps spinning
It is quite normal to have dizziness, but if that dizziness comes with vaginal bleeding, then it may be a sign of an ectopic pregnancy. This happens when a fertilized egg implants outside the uterus. Be sure to see the doctor as soon as you can.
5. You are constantly constipated
If you feel bloated, or you would like to pass gas, but you just can´t, it is because hormonal changes can make you constipated. Prenatal Vitamins can do that too.
Your digestive system becomes slow when you are pregnant in order to provide the proper nutrients and additional time those nutrients to get absorbed by your bloodstream and then reach your baby.
Now, it might resolve the issue, if you were to add a good amount of fiber into your diet and drink a lot of fluids, plus exercise on a regular basis. If you feel all that all of these things do not help you, then you may want to buy a stool-softener.
6. If you experience what it seems to be your period
Around twenty-five to forty percent of women who are pregnant will experience some light bleeding. This is because a fertilized egg attaches to the uterine lining. This is known as implantation bleeding, and it happens after two weeks of conception.
7. Make some hot tea and get inside the covers
When you are pregnant, your immune system gets compromised a bit, so that can lead to a cold or flu symptoms. If this is the case, then you should ask your doctor about pregnancy friendly medication, that does not cause any harm to you or your baby. You can also look into a more natural approach like purchasing organic ginger tea, organic raw honey and drinking loads of water. But every woman is different, and you are the one who knows exactly what you think it is best for you and your baby.
8. Food tastes different than it usually
If all of a sudden your taste buds change entirely, suddenly what used to taste salty to you, suddenly it has no taste. Then this could be a sign of early pregnancy.
9. You feel inexplicably hot and sweaty
If you feel like your body temperature skyrockets and you are dripping in sweat, then this could be another sign of early pregnancy.
There are so many signs, but at the end of the day, you are the one who truly knows your body. I realize that it sounds like a cliché, but the only way to have assurance that you are pregnant is for you to take a pregnancy test.
