We all know that the next step after getting high blog traffic is to monetize it and earn some cash, but I’ll keep this topic to my next posts…?
Here I want to discuss the important question:
How to Create Pinterest Pins That Will Go Viral and Skyrocket Your Blog Traffic?
I guess you already read different posts that explain that the pins you design must be vertical, have clean and simple font design, good attractive title, design it in Canva (the free app that everybody uses), then post it during the most active hours and bla bla…. But let’s be honest, it is not always working.
When I first started pinning on Pinterest, I read TONS of posts about how to succeed on Pinterest. There were a few good articles from bloggers who shared their greatest tips, but most of them weren’t that good. I soon found myself overwhelmed with all the generic posts. Most of the articles just listed the basic steps of making a viral pin that don’t really help anyone.
So, why is my post different?
Because today I’m going to share with you what works for me exactly, the strategies and the tools I use, and I hope this will give you a better understanding of how to create a pin that will go viral.
Choose Your Niche Wisely
First, let’s be straight forward, if your blog niche is not popular, which means that it doesn’t interest anybody, no matter what you do, it will be hard to make its pins go viral.
It doesn’t mean that you have to focus only on one niche in your blog, you can write about multiple topics. Make sure to write about popular topics and use keywords that have a high search volume.
CONTENT IS KING – REMEMBER IT!
Use Attractive Titles
You need to use accurate titles, to make the value clear and to use a strong language, so people will understand what the post is about.
When writing a post, you need to try to solve people’s problems. People love saving Pinterest pins that can help them later. In order to let them know what your post is about and make them click on your pin, you must use an attractive and catchy title.
People are always looking for answers, guides, hacks, and tips that will make their lives easier. Use the words: “How to do…”, “Where to get…”, “The ultimate guide to…”, “Why is…”, etc.
What About Pin Design?
There is something very important that you need to understand …
When your potential reader is getting into Pinterest, he sees tons of pins. To filter and refine some of these pins he might search for a certain keyword. While he scrolls down the Pinterest dash, you will get less than a millisecond to attract his attention. If you manage to do so, then you will get a few more seconds to make a good first impression and to make him click on your pin.
THINK! How should you design your pin?
In addition to the attractive title, you need to use great photographs, clear font designs and interesting pin creative.
There are many free apps you can use to design your pins. Among the popular ones, you can find PicMonkey or Canva.
Canva is good, but everybody uses it! To design an extraordinary banner for free, you will have to make an effort to do it. After using this app for a while, I can easily recognize which pin was created by Canva, since most of them use the same templates and fonts. This way your pin can easily vanish among the millions of the pins on Pinterest – Not that good, right?
Another option that I use is to create pins in Adobe Photoshop. In my opinion, this is the best way to design high-quality Pinterest pins and trust me, I have never taken a single lesson or a course to do it. All the Photoshop designing knowledge I have gained is from watching YouTube tutorials.
Don’t worry it doesn’t have to be hard as it sounds, once you design 2-3 Pinterest pin templates, all you will have to change is the background photo and the title. By using Photoshop, you can brand your pins and blog easily. This way people will recognize your pins and click on them.

Why Should You Use Clear Font Designs on Your Pinterest Banners?
Look at these two banner examples – which one is better?
Most of the people will prefer the pin with the uppercase letters. Why? Because it is easier and faster to read when scrolling the Pinterest feed.
What Else Should You Avoid?
I often see pins that look overloaded; the font isn’t clear, too many colors, complicated sentences, etc. You should avoid overloading your Pinterest Pins. Sometimes less is more, remember it! TOO MUCH EVERYTHING IS BAD!
Use High-Quality Stock Photos
To make your Pinterest pins even more interesting and attractive you must use high-quality stock photos. By using topic-oriented photos, you will manage to pass the post’s topic better to your potential readers.
You can purchase high quality stock photos or even take the photos yourself! No matter where you get them from, be sure to use high quality, creative, and topic-related photos.

Another option, which is not my favorite, but also available, is to use free stock photos. Keep in mind that since it is free, everybody uses it, it is not always high quality, and you must check the license type before you use them. Here you have a list of 20 free stock photo websites.
