Things You Didn’t Think to Pack for Your Hospital Bag (But Definitely Should!)
Are you about to become a mother? Well, if so then another good news for you as you are at the right place to know exactly what you need to carry along when you get hospitalized for childbirth. As you would not be able to pack your bag at the time of delivery, you need to be prepared for it beforehand in order to avoid any problems during your time at the hospital. Here are the things you should pack:
Slipper & Flip-Flops
Flip-flops have been a great lifesaver for me. As your family members or the hospital staff would not want you to be slipping around or walking on cold floors barefoot, they provide you with a good grip.
Cellphone Charger
Mostly in emergencies, it slips our mind to keep our cellphone charger along. Now that the cellphones have different kinds of charges, it becomes difficult to find any similar charger in the hospital.
Nice Postpartum Clothes
Hospital clothing is great during active labor and after childbirth, because you are not going to care too much what you look like. They are good as long as you are comfortable.
But what will you wear after the baby is born and people will start visiting? What do you plan to wear when you leave the hospital after giving birth?
After the baby’s born and your belly still looks 6 months pregnant, all you need are the right postpartum clothes.
Jumbo Pads
Most of the time hospitals provide you with the pads, however, they are of low quality and might create unease for you. So to stay at the comfortable side take a few jumbo pads with you.
Disposable Panties
Not every hospital provides disposable panties which are very useful especially during the first days after birth. The hygiene is a big factor postpartum, so it is always better to take fresh disposable panties along.
Change for Emergency Snacks
This is specifically for the person who will be staying along with you so when you get that food craving, that person can immediately get something for you from the nearest vending machine.
Power Food
It is important to take some power food along with you because there can be times when you will not have anybody to bring food for you or you get tired from the hospital food so a backup food always helps.
Eye Mask & Earplugs
Keeping your own comfort zone is very important during pregnancy as the mood swings can make everything worse. Hospitals are not the best place when it comes to comfort so keep your eye mask and earplugs along so when you want to zone out from the best of the world you are well equipped to do so.
Big Towel
A big towel is quite helpful for multiple purposes, you can wash and wrap your baby easily in it. Also before or after labor, you can use it yourself after taking a shower.
Nursing Pillow
Once the baby is with you, it becomes your utmost responsibility to make sure he/she is comfortable, well-fed, and in the right condition. Purchase a nursing pillow beforehand that will help you in getting a better posture during breastfeeding.
These are most of the things that you can keep with you when you leave for the hospital and you will be relieved once they will come in handy.
