You’ll need a shadow box and cardstock for this kind of project. Astrobrights is a great option. You can grab a pack of their colored 65 lb. paper on Amazon.
2. T-Shirts
Have you ever wanted to make your own custom t-shirts? With a Cricut and some iron-on vinyl, you can. Print out your design, iron it onto a plain t-shirt and enjoy! It really is that simple.

Pantry labels are a quick, easy and fun project for Cricut. If you’re reorganizing your pantry or doing a refresh, labels will make it so much easier to find what you need. And you don’t need to spend a fortune on pre-made labels. Just choose a font you love and get to work making your own decals for your pantry staples, like flour, sugar, baking soda and more.

4. Greeting Cards
When you get started with Cricut, one of the first projects you’ll make is a greeting card. It’s a simple and fun project that gives you so much creative freedom.
With some pretty cardstock and your Cricut machine, you can create greeting cards for every occasion, including:

Essentially, you’ll use your Cricut design as a stencil to remove the tumbler’s paint and make the design look etched into the product.

- Oracal 651 vinyl
- Painter’s tape
- Transfer tape
- Scraper

Custom clipboards are fun Cricut projects for beginners, and they’re so useful for teachers, office workers and anyone else who takes organization seriously.
What’s great about this project is that it’s so easy. You’ll need:
- SVG files (we have some great quotes and designs in our shop)
- Vinyl
- Transfer tape
- Clipboard
- Polycrylic or Mod Podge
Just print the design on the vinyl, use your weeding tool to remove any excess material, and use transfer tape to transfer your design to the clipboard. Seal your design with either Polycrylic or Mod Podge and enjoy.
13. Acrylic Wall Calendar
Want a unique way to keep track of your schedule and to-do list? Use your Cricut to create a wall calendar and to-do list.
First, you’ll need an acrylic dry erase board. Then, you can use your Cricut to print a calendar and to-do list that you can transfer to your board. All that’s left to do is get a set of dry erase markers and a whiteboard eraser.
Each month can be customized, so you can add your tasks and schedule without needing to print out new calendars.
14. Cord Organizers
Here’s a fun project that will create a useful item with your Cricut – cord organizers. For this project, you’ll use your machine to cut out a unique shape for your organizer. Then, you can add a string or a snap button to hold the organizer together.
You can use whatever material you like, but faux leather works really well and can stand up to heavy use.
