Meal prepping is my favorite way to stay on track and eat healthy throughout the week. One of the simplest (and most delicious) protein sources I use is chicken. It’s so versatile and so easy to incorporate into just about any dish. To help you with your weekly prepping, I’m going to share 25+ of my favorite chicken meal prep recipes.
25+ Best Chicken Meal Prep Recipes to Try This Week
1. Dill Pickle Chicken Salad
Chicken salad is such a flavorful option for meal prepping, and you can make it as healthy (or unhealthy) as you want. Skip the bread, and you have a low-carb lunch that’s tasty and will keep you satisfied all afternoon.
This recipe uses simple ingredients, like canned chicken (I recommend using rotisserie chicken or home-cooked chicken instead), red onion, Dijon mustard, mayo, pickles and fresh dill.
2. Glazed Chicken Thighs with Roasted Potatoes and Green Beans
This recipe uses chicken thighs, which are a more budget-friendly cut and more flavorful than chicken breast. The homemade sweet glaze only calls for a few ingredients: brown sugar, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, paprika, olive oil, salt and pepper. The roasted potatoes and green beans round out this meal prep idea for a balanced dish you’ll love.
3. Firecracker Ground Chicken
I love how flavorful and flexible this recipe is, which is why it’s a favorite choice for meal prepping. While the recipe calls for ground chicken, you could easily use chicken breast or thighs if that’s what you have on hand. The sauce is where the flavor is: buffalo sauce, rice vinegar, garlic powder, ginger, brown sugar, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper.
Serve with a side of rice, top with sliced green onions and divide into multiple servings for the week.
4. One-Pan Chicken, Broccoli and Sweet Potatoes
This is another one of my favorite chicken meal prep recipes because it’s SO easy. All you need is one pan and you’re good to go. The ingredients are simple and healthy: chicken breasts, sweet potatoes, broccoli, garlic, lemon juice, Cajun seasoning and olive oil. This recipe makes enough for four servings.
5. Ranch Chicken Meal Prep
Garlic herb chicken, roasted potatoes, broccoli and a little ranch dressing drizzled over the top. Sounds like the perfect lunch to me. This recipe is so simple, flavorful and healthy (well, minus the dressing). I love the addition of Parmesan cheese to the roasted potatoes.
6. Cilantro Lime Chicken
Cilantro lime chicken is such a great recipe for meal prepping because it’s so versatile. And this recipe calls for 2 pounds of chicken thighs, so you can easily prep for a few days. You’ll need fresh cilantro, lime juice and zest, garlic, cumin, olive oil and a few other spices. The key to maximizing flavor is to let the chicken marinate for a few hours.
Pair this chicken with rice and fresh vegetables for a balanced meal.
7. Black Pepper Chicken
This black pepper chicken recipe was inspired by Panda Express, and its rich flavor makes it perfect for meal prep. Along with chicken breast, you’ll need green bell pepper, onion, chili, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, rice vinegar and a few other pantry staples. This recipe pairs perfectly with rice or noodles.
8. Sticky Ginger Soy Glazed Chicken
I love meal-prepping noodle dishes, and this recipe has some of my favorite flavors packed into one. You’ll need chicken thighs for this dish, along with soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, garlic and some other staples. Use fresh broccoli. I recommend swapping out the angel hair pasta for soba noodles as a healthier option.

9. Greek Lemon Chicken
When it comes to flavor, it doesn’t get much better than lemon chicken. For this recipe, you’ll need chicken thighs, lemon juice, oregano, thyme, Dijon mustard and fresh garlic. I highly recommend letting your chicken marinate overnight to maximize the flavor. Roast your chicken with fresh lemon slices. Serve with steamed vegetables and rice or orzo.
10. Sheet Pan Lemon Garlic Chicken
I love chicken meal prep recipes like this one, which is really similar to the one-pan chicken, broccoli and sweet potatoes I shared earlier. Instead of sweet potatoes, we’re going to roast baby Dutch potatoes. The lemon garlic marinade is sinfully delicious, and I definitely recommend making the Parmesan yogurt herb sauce to drizzle on your dish. You’ll easily have enough chicken and vegetables for two to three meals.
11. Sticky Sesame Chicken
The sauce for this sticky sesame chicken dish is a bit more complicated, but it’s worth all the effort to make it. I recommend using high-quality honey and swapping out the vegetable oil for olive oil. Cook up some rice and steamed broccoli (or any other vegetable) to add to your meal prep containers.
12. Chicken Sausage Greek Bowls
These bowls are so simple but pack a punch when it comes to flavor. Pair your favorite chicken sausage with a Greek salad (cucumber, cherry tomatoes, feta, red onion and a simple vinaigrette). Follow the recipe to make your own tzatziki sauce and add a serving of pearl couscous to each meal prep container.
13. Baked Honey Mustard Chicken
Who doesn’t love a good honey mustard chicken recipe? This recipe cooks enough chicken for four meals, and the ingredients are simple. Use a quality Dijon mustard to maximize the flavor and don’t skip the fresh rosemary.
14. Honey Garlic Chicken Meal Prep
Here’s a super simple meal prep recipe that makes enough for four meals. Butter, honey and garlic are the stars of the show in this recipe, which gives the chicken thighs so much flavor. Pair with brown rice and a vegetable for a balanced meal.

15. BBQ Sheet Pan Chicken and Veggies
Sheet pan chicken is so easy to make, and this recipe is very healthy. Blair from The Seasoned Mom was nice enough to share this recipe that includes brown sugar, smoked paprika, onion and garlic powder, ground mustard, red onions and peppers, BBQ sauce and a mere 22 minutes of cooking time.
If you want your chicken to be a tad crispier, broil it for a few minutes before serving.
16. Korean Inspired Chicken Meal Prep Bowls
Glass food prep containers are necessary for this recipe, which makes four servings. You’ll start by making a chicken marinade that includes honey, soy sauce, ginger, sesame seeds and skinless chicken breasts.
Sesame slaw is up next, with rice vinegar, soy sauce and ginger.
While you cook the chicken, you’ll have your Jasmine rice cooking and will mix in the slaw with it while keeping a close eye on your chicken, which you’ll need to flip to keep it tender.
17. Apple Cranberry Chicken Salad
Chicken meal prep recipes rarely add the flavors of this recipe. You’ll mix apples, celery, cranberries, mayo, apples, lemon juice and a handful of spices into your salad. Add a touch of pecans for a nutty flavor, and this is a recipe that’s a surprise for the tastebuds.
18. Chicken Ranch Wraps
Healthy chicken ranch wraps are a favorite at my house. And no one knows it takes me less than 15 minutes to make. Gimme Delicious makes this dish as easy as possible with grilled chicken breasts, mozzarella, cilantro, tortillas and ranch dressing.
I recommended frying up the tortillas for a nice crunch.
19. ONE PAN Balsamic Chicken and Veggies
Balsamic chicken and veggies in one pan sound fantastic because it reduces cleanup time. What I love about this recipe is that it uses a:
- Dipping sauce
- 2-ingredient glaze
Prep time is a mere 10 minutes, and you’ll enjoy a healthy meal that includes chicken tenders, broccoli, carrots and tomatoes.
20. Butter Garlic Chicken
A mere 330 calories and 32 grams of protein per meal make this a great option for a high-protein meal for anyone on a diet. You’ll watch the chef cook this in a skillet on Instagram, and it includes:
- Coriander
- Chili flakes
- Garlic paste
- Chicken
- Butter
- Honey
- White rice
And with the right spices on top, this dish looks like a 5-star chef made it.
21. Korean Chicken Bowls
I never knew that I liked Korean food this much until I sunk my teeth into these chicken bowls. You’ll use eight chicken thighs, so you’ll have plenty of meals for the entire week. Just add in honey and soy sauce, garlic, ginger, coleslaw, sesame seeds, jasmine rice and a handful of other ingredients to make the perfect, Korean-inspired bowl.
22. Spicy Curried Chicken Bowls
Chicken meal prep recipes that are ultra-healthy? You bet! This gluten-free, paleo recipe has the flavor of Indian curry and includes:
- Broccoli
- Brussel sprouts
- Cauliflower
- Salt and pepper
- Curry powder
- Paprika
23. Teriyaki Chicken Stir-Fry Lunch Box
If you have all of your meals prepped, it’s easier to stay on track with your diet. This recipe offers four servings of:
- Teriyaki chicken
- Roasted veggies
- Rice
Your balanced meal will include three cups of mixed veggies, such as broccoli and zucchini, brown rice and delicious teriyaki chicken with honey and a delectable garlic paste.
24. Honey Sriracha Chicken
Spicy and filled with flavor? I’ll admit that this isn’t a dish for everyone, but it has an abundance of flavor thanks to the:
- Sriracha sauce
- Honey
- Soy sauce
- Garnish
- Spices
You will want to use a meat thermometer like this one because it will be hard to know when the chicken is done, thanks to the color of the sauce.
Check out this easy honey chicken meal prep recipe we made here.
25. Chicken Teriyaki Meal Prep
The Forked Spoon shares this recipe, which uses lean chicken breast, roasted veggies and quinoa for one of the highest protein meals possible. If you want to start your week off healthy, you’ll love the tenderness of the chicken tenders and the flavor of pineapples, sugar snap peas, cherry tomatoes and Teriyaki sauce.
26. Citrus Dijon Grilled Chicken
I’m not going to lie; the marinade for this chicken is divine and really makes the dish. If you’re like me and always on the go, it takes just 15 minutes to make. You can also use all of your citrus leftovers for this one.
You’ll need oranges, limes, lemon, Italian seasoning, Dijon mustard and a handful of ingredients. Tongs and a whisk also come in handy.
