15+ Hauntingly Beautiful Halloween Wedding Cakes to Die For
1. Graveyard Cake
Here’s a gorgeous cake that isn’t too gory and has a Halloween theme. The gravestones, creepy trees and ghosts create a spooky vibe. And the black and gray colors make this cake a perfect fit for any color theme.
You’ll need a skilled cake artist to bring this idea to life, but it’s worth the effort to find one.

2. Bloody Pomegranate Cake
Here’s a cake for couples that want to keep it classy. Three layers of white frosted cake adorned with pomegranate arils, berries and flowers. The red drips create that bloody look that makes this cake design a good fit for a Halloween wedding.
If you’re not a fan of pomegranate, you could use berries instead.
Don’t forget the “Just Married” cake topper to tie the whole thing together.
3. Black Cats and White Pumpkins
A beautiful cake with a simple black and white theme. If you and your spouse are fans of cats, then you’ll love this design. It features playful black cats and adorable white pumpkins. Geometric patterns and black drips add dimension to this cake, which is sure to be unforgettable.
This three-layer cake could be made in any flavor you like, but red velvet would really add to the Halloween theme.
4. A Spooky Ghost Cake
I love minimal Halloween wedding cakes like this one. It starts with a delicious cake base, and the top decoration is the real star.
This cake’s top looks like a ghost or spirit rising from the frosting. A simple buttercream frosting would be perfect for this cake, but you’ll need a baker with creativity and skill to create the “vapor” on the top layer.
5. White Roses and a Semi-Naked Cake
A three-layer semi-naked cake with white frosting and elegantly placed flowers. There’s nothing about this cake that screams Halloween, but the contrast between the dark cake and frosting helps it fit in well with this theme.
Real or fondant flowers can be added to bring this idea to life.
6. Fall Harvest Cake
Here’s a cake design that is both beautiful and edible. The gradient colors of each layer create the perfect canvas for the decorative elements.
Orange flowers, white roses and a leafless tree wrap around the cake as if it were growing on it. Drips on the bottom two layers add texture and depth.
This cake is so elegant yet still fits the fall and Halloween theme so well. Your guests will be talking about its design for years to come.
7. Green Devil’s Slime Cake
Want a cake that really screams Halloween? This slime cake is it. The lime green frosting is the perfect fit for this theme. The topper features octopus arms and strawberries with menacing teeth.
This cake is one that will freak out your guests, and it will be tricky to cut. But it will make your big day even more memorable.
If you want to try your hand at making this cake (or have someone in your family make it), Good Living has a detailed tutorial to follow. I love that it features a citrus sponge, which is something your guests won’t expect.
8. Till Death Do Us Part
This is one of my favorite Halloween wedding cakes on this list. The black frosting complements the brightly colored flowers and berries – all made out of frosting. At the top sits a skeleton couple and a tombstone that says “Til Death Do Us Part.”
You can find similar cake toppers on Amazon.
9. Black and White Skeleton Cake
A multi-layer semi-naked chocolate cake with black frosted drips and a skeleton couple topper. This cake’s simplicity is what makes it so special. The glass-like pieces on the top layer add something special to the design, which works well for any color theme.
If you want a cake that impresses but isn’t too over the top, this one is it.
10. Black Roses Cake
How gorgeous is this cake? It’s a single layer, which means it’s best suited for a very small wedding with just a handful of guests. But it will still make a lasting impression.
The black matte frosting really makes the roses pop. These can be edible roses, or you can find a plastic rose cake topper.
The couple on the top layer can be custom-made to fit your theme and style as a couple.

11. Romantic Goth Cake
Intricate is an understatement for this romantic goth cake. You’ll need a three-layer chocolate cake with frosting to make the black trees on each layer. In the middle of multiple cake layers is a circular marble design that reminds me of looking at planets.
Add frosting to each tier to hold the design in place.
12. Tombstone Party Cake
What a fun cake design. You’ll notice that the cake is a basic chocolate with black frosting to make the webs. You can also use chocolate for the design, but it’s 100% up to you. Orange pumpkin candies are added to the base of the cake and on the sides.
But the top is where the entire party takes place.
You’ll add layers of chocolate frosting to the top of the cake, along with your pumpkin candies or just dabs of orange frosting. Ghost molds can be used to make the top ghosts out of white chocolate. Tombstones are added on rectangular cookies to complete this amazing look.
13. Purple, Orange and Chocolate Cake
Of all the cake ideas on the list, this is one of the “easier” to make. A four-layer cake with popping colors is a good way to explain this one. For the first two layers, you’ll cover the cake in purple frosting.
For the bottom two, pumpkin-orange frosting is used.
Chocolate frosting will allow you to make the cobwebs on the second and third layers. On the bottom layer, an entire wedding scene or forest design is used. It’s a picture-perfect wedding cake for any couple that loves Halloween and wants to start their life together with a theme they’ll both love.
14. Skull Cake
Skulls make it onto many of these Halloween wedding cakes, and this idea is no exception. You’ll notice a very intricate cake with black “lace” designs on it. Black roses added to the love and appeal of this “cake.”
But also notice that surrounding the main cake are cupcakes that feature beautiful black roses on top.
On the very top of the cake stand are cupcakes with skulls on top of them. While I’m not 100% sure, the skulls look more like fake props and are not edible.
For an intimate wedding, this is such a wonderful cake idea that you can have someone recreate it for you.
15. Pumpkin Mayhem Cake
I don’t know what to call this wedding cake idea aside from pure mayhem. Featuring a strong pumpkin design, the cake looks to be a standard, three-tier chocolate cake. Grayish frosting is used to make web designs on the cake and give it some depth.
Orange frosting is splattered on the cake’s multiple sides.
On top, two small decorative pumpkins are added. You can also have additional pumpkins added to each layer to complete the look. But be sure to warn your guests that these are not edible.
16. Black and White Lambeth Cake
A wooden cake stand sits on the bottom, followed by the most decadent vanilla cake on top. Black frosting covers the top of the cake and wraps along the cake’s bottom. Add black candles on top and light them to celebrate your big day.
17. Gothic Wedding Cake with Black Tiers
Hauntingly beautiful is a good way to describe this cake. Some editing went into the final photo, but it’s still a cake that you can request for your big day. Perched on a black and gold cake stand, you have a three-layer cake with:
- Chocolate cake on the first two layers
- Vanilla on the top part of the third layer
- Chocolate dripping down from each tier (think bleeding chocolate)
- Raspberries and blueberries to add contrasting colors
- Edible flowers on the side of the cake
18. Crow Cake
A beautiful vanilla cake with vines crawling up all three layers of the cake is stunning on its own. Notice the black roses on each layer that add a bit of mystique to the overall look. But it’s the two crows on the cake that really take center stage.
You can add non-edible crows to the cake, like these ones from Amazon.

19. Day of the Dead Cake
Finishing off my list of Halloween wedding cakes with this amazing Day of the Dead cake seems appropriate. Beautiful orange flowers adorn the two-toned blue cake and make it pop with color. Intricate designs on each layer of the cake add to the cake’s beauty, but the two sugar skulls still remain the cake’s centerpiece.
You’ll need extreme talent or a very skilled cake master to make this cake.
But the Pin leads to Cake Vows, which has 50+ designs inspired by Day of the Dead that are also beautiful yet a tad easier to make.
