Furniture can instantly transform your space, but let’s be real – so many stores are expensive. The great news? There are some awesome cheap furniture stores out there if you know where to look. We’re going to share 10 stores to purchase affordable furniture.
10 Cheap Furniture Stores to Transform Your Space
1. Walmart
Walmart has hundreds of furniture items online that you can buy at insanely low prices. And you can buy furniture for any room in your home, whether you need a new bed, a dresser, sofa or anything in between.
How cheap is Walmart for furniture? Take a look at these two items:
- Mellow 14” metal platform frame bed – $75.26 – and it can hold a queen-sized mattress.
- GIKPAL 10-drawer dresser – $74.99
You can purchase furniture online from Walmart’s website, or you can visit any local Walmart to browse their selection. We recommend shopping online, finding something you like and seeing if it’s in stock at your local shop. If so, you can drive over and check it out in person.
Walmart is the largest retailer in the world. You’ve probably shopped there yourself at least once in your life. Most people are happy with Walmart’s service and delivery, but like any other well-known retailer, there will always be a few complaints.
Either way, Walmart’s reputation and history mean that you can shop with peace of mind. If something goes wrong, chances are, they’re going to give you a refund or make it right somehow.
If you really want to score some amazing deals, check out their discount furniture section. Their already-affordable furniture is even cheaper.
2. Wayfair
When you think of cheap furniture stores, Wayfair may not be the first thing that comes to mind. But this giant online furniture store has a huge selection in all price ranges. They always have fantastic deals in their sales section, especially during the holidays.
For example, you can snag the Abingdon Upholstered Swivel Reclining Glider for just over $230 – originally $891!
The beauty of Wayfair is that you can find really cheap furniture and higher-end furniture that’s on sale for really low prices. And whether you’re into modern furniture, traditional, farmhouse – whatever it may be – they are sure to have something you love.
Here are a few items that caught our eye:
- Irfaan coffee table – $89 on sale. This coffee table has a lift-top design with plenty of storage space. It’s easy to assemble, too.
- Hansell swivel barrel chair – $289 on sale. This gorgeous chair comes in 30+ colors and is made to order.
The drawback of Wayfair? You can’t shop in person. You can only shop online.
Customers rate Wayfair mostly positively. Delivery can be very slow for some products and during certain times of the year. They also offer white-glove delivery for many furniture items, so you don’t even have to worry about assembly or moving the furniture yourself.

3. Amazon
Amazon is an online store that needs no introduction. You can find furniture of all types, styles and price ranges on their site. Whether you need a new coffee table, an entire bedroom set or a simple show rack, you can find anything on Amazon.
You can’t shop in person, which means you only have the option to buy online. But the upside is that Amazon has excellent customer service. If you’re unhappy or something goes wrong with the delivery, they’ll make it right.
Even with that in mind, you can find some amazing deals on Amazon, like the Best Choice Products faux leather convertible futon that goes from a sofa to a bed in seconds (just $149 on sale!). Or you can get an entire dining table for eight people for just $219.
Reviews for Amazon are mostly positive. Delivery is typically handled by UPS, FedEx or USPS. For larger items, like furniture, Amazon has customer service specialists that can help with your order.
4. Big Lots
Big Lots is another well-known discount store that sells everything home-related. The great thing about Big Lots is that you can shop online or in person. We recommend browsing online and seeing if the items you like are available in your local store. If so, you can view them in person and then make a decision.
If you like the furniture, you may still want to order online. Why? Because they’ll deliver the furniture to your house.
Big Lots sells a wide range of furniture, mostly in the traditional style. You can find sofas, kitchen furniture, bedroom furniture, office furniture, and even entryway items.
Prices are very reasonable. For example, you can buy the Arlis Gray Sofa for just $399 or the Walnut chevron storage cabinet for $89.97.
Big Lots gets positive reviews overall from customers. They don’t have as vast of a collection as other stores on this list, but you can snag some great deals.
The only real drawback is that if you want to shop in person, your local store may not have many furniture items at all.
5. Kohl’s
Kohl’s is a higher tier among the cheap furniture stores. You’ll pay slightly more for items, but they’re still insanely affordable. You can elevate your space for so cheap. Just look at the awesome Flash Furniture White Desk with Three Drawer Pedestal and Keyboard Tray for only $165.
Do you need a dining table? You can’t go wrong with the Madison Park Hemlock table for just $443.
If you spend over $49, shipping is often free. Certain items can be shipped to your local store for pickup, but this will vary. Kohl’s has great reviews and really good customer service and also rewards you with Kohl’s cash when you buy items.
6. Target
Target is, if you’ve never been in the store before, a more upscale Walmart with great products, prices and customer service. You’ll find everything in the store and even more online. What makes Target stand out is that they offer truly low prices with great quality – for the cost.
For example:

- Want a modern-looking coffee table that is an instant focal point? Try the 32″ Arbon Coffee Table – Threshold™ designed with Studio McGee.
You can order online or go in-store to make purchases, but the in-store selection is far smaller. Free shipping is available, but exclusions do apply to some items. If you have a Red Card, you’ll save 5% on your purchase.
