Company holiday parties are a great opportunity for everyone to celebrate and come together in a more laid-back environment. But planning the details can be stressful. Don’t panic – I’ve got you covered. Use these company Christmas party ideas for inspiration.
Decorations to Jazz Up Your Christmas Party
What’s one of the first things you’ll need to plan? The decorations. The goal is to transform your space and make it more festive.
Here are some ideas to get your creative juices flowing.
Present Archway
Here’s a great idea if you’re having your party at the office. Create a fun and festive archway out of presents. Grab some cardboard boxes and wrap them in fun Christmas wrapping paper. PVC pipes will help you make the arched design.
The Hallmark Channel has a great tutorial on how to make a present archway that you can use to build one for your office party.

Cubicle Decor
Here’s another great option if you’re having your party at the office. Have everyone decorate their cubicles to create a more festive space.
You can recreate this gingerbread house with cardboard boxes, garland, streamers, decals and peppermint candy decorations.
Ask everyone to get creative and design their own cubicle spaces. You can even have a contest for the most creative design and have everyone vote on it.
Classic Green and Red Decor
This is one of the more traditional company Christmas party ideas on our list. It’s simple but perfect for a company party.
Add red and green tablecloths to your tables and add cute holiday centerpieces. Add a Christmas tree and garland around doorways to make the space feel cozy and festive.
Red Balloons and Trees
Even if you can’t have a rooftop party, you can use this idea as inspiration for your space. Red and white balloons create drama, while tabletop Christmas trees make the space feel more festive. Add red and white elements to the space to keep with the theme.
Foods to Make for Your Christmas Party
Decor is just one part of planning the party. Food is arguably one of the most important parts to plan.
Here are some delicious ideas.
Mini Cheeseballs on RITZ
Simple but delicious. This appetizer will please everyone. To make the cheeseballs, you’ll need to mix cream cheese, sharp cheddar and spices. Roll each ball in either dried cranberries or dried chives.
Top each RITZ cracker with a mini cheeseball and serve. Add cranberries and rosemary sprigs to your serving tray for splashes of color.
Holiday Meatballs on Skewers
These meatballs are one of my favorite work Christmas party ideas. They’re easy to make, and they are party-friendly because they’re served on skewers.
You can make your meatballs from beef or turkey.
Bake your meatballs for 15-20 minutes, toss in your orange/cranberry sauce and serve.
Hot Honey Mozzarella Sticks
Looking for some unique company Christmas party ideas for food? You’ll love these hot honey mozzarella sticks. They’re different from the usual mozzarella sticks because the filling is wrapped in phyllo dough instead of breadcrumbs.
Each phyllo dough roll is stuffed with delicious pepperoni, mozzarella cheese, provolone, Parmesan cheese and garlic.
Serve with hot honey mixed with sliced jalapenos.
Want to cater to people who don’t like spicy food? Serve half without the hot honey and swap in marinara sauce.
Sticky Pomegranate Meatballs
Meatballs truly are the perfect holiday party food, and this recipe puts a sticky twist on things. Pomegranate is perfect for this time of year, and the red color adds to the festive season.
To make these, you’ll need pomegranate juice, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, onion, parsley, cornstarch, egg and beef.
First, you’ll cook the meatballs in the oven. Once they’re done, you can toss them in the pomegranate sauce simmered on low heat.
Add skewers to make these party-friendly.

For a nice, light appetizer, these crostini are a great option.
Activities to Do at Your Christmas Party
Office celebrations are more memorable when you add fun activities that employees will remember for years to come. But what activities should you add to your company Christmas party ideas?
We have quite a few recommendations:
Minute to Win It Games
Minute to win it games are a lot of fun and add some excitement to holiday parties. You have a lot of great options here:
- Office tennis: Use clipboards as your tennis racket and a crumpled up piece of paper as your tennis ball. Pair up with a teammate with the goal of hitting the “ball” into a trash can across the room. Too easy? Add distance to make this harder. Don’t forget to place a piece of tape on the ground to make sure no one cheats by stepping over the line.
- Speed eraser: Place heavy glass cups across a table. Using pencils with erasers, try bouncing the pencil off of the table and into the cup. The person who gets the most pencils into the cup wins.
- Cookie Monster: A fun game that is a little odd. Players will bend their necks backward to look at the ceiling and then place a cookie on their forehead. Using only their facial muscles, players will try to move the cookie from their forehead into their mouth.
- Dizzy mummy: Players will dress like a mummy by wrapping themselves in toilet paper. One player will be the mummy and the other will try to wrap around them as quickly as possible to wrap themselves up. It’s a fun game that is sure to get lots of laughs from attendees.
Watch the YouTube video below to get a better idea of how dizzy mummy works:
Steal and Stuff Stocking Game
Fun work Christmas party ideas rarely include this game because the author of Little Cooks Reading Books made it up. But it’s so much fun that I recommend everyone give it a try at least once.
You’ll need four players for this game with:
- Three dollars
- Three candy canes
- Tags that say: elf, red and drink
- List of holiday words
Players start with three candy canes wrapped in dollars. Players each have their own hidden words and will mingle with guests to get them to say the hidden words on their list.
If a player gets someone else to say one of the hidden words on their list, then they can steal a dollar or a candy cane from them.
You’ll continue playing until a person runs out of words or until someone hits a certain dollar amount.
Sock Exchange
Awkward yet fun, this sock exchange is actually a blast at any Christmas party. You’ll have attendees bring a pair of Christmas socks filled with a certain value of gifts, say between $10 and $20 worth of items.
Tie each sock top with a ribbon to hide the surprises inside.
Place all of the socks in a basket or on the table, and don’t forget to put a number on them. Have your guests:
- Roll the dice
- Choose the sock number that you roll
- Switch to the last person
If someone lands on a number that was already chosen, they can opt to “steal” the person’s socks and gifts or roll another time. You’ll play until all of the socks on the table or in the basket are gone.
Be sure to have people unwrap the socks that they pick up so that everyone can see what’s inside.

Poke a Tree
Poke a Tree is perfect for this list of work Christmas party ideas, but it will require you to be a bit crafty this holiday season. You’ll need:
- Stacks of colored tissue paper
- A 5” – 6” round object to trace on the paper
- Cut a circle out of the tissue paper
- Place little gifts inside of the plastic cups
- Cover the cups with tissue paper and use a rubber band to keep it on
- Hot glue the cups to a piece of white construction paper
- Create a Christmas tree pattern using the cups
Players will poke the tissue paper during their turn to reveal their prize. You can see a video of how this works below:
Christmas Party Bingo
What list of company Christmas party ideas is complete without a game of bingo? Create bingo cards, or find ones on Etsy, and then play a game of find someone who and instead of numbers, it will stay things like:
- Is wearing Christmas colors
- Speaks two languages
- Doesn’t drink coffee
- Etc.
Your goal is to mingle with guests, ask them questions and then fill in the spaces based on their responses.
If you like, you can come up with all of the questions yourself and use something like Canva to make the bingo cards. Alternatively, you can purchase an already-made card on Etsy for a few dollars that has great questions on them already.
