15+ St. Patrick’s Day Appetizers That Will Wow Your Guests
1. Crispy St. Patrick’s Day Cabbage
Crispy cabbage is a fitting dish for St. Patrick’s Day, and this recipe is so easy. Along with the cabbage itself, you’ll need some basic ingredients, like flour, baking powder, spices, milk, eggs and a few other things you probably have in your kitchen.
Cooking these fritters is as easy as frying them in a skillet with a little bit of oil. Plus, this recipe’s author includes a recipe for a delicious garlicky dip.
I recommend using a mandolin slicer for this dish – it will save you so much time.
2. Cheesy Kilted Sausage Bites
Tasty smoked sausages wrapped in crescent roll sheets with cream cheese and cheddar cheese. What’s not to like?
These sausage bites are so tasty and so easy to make. I love the Dijon mustard glaze, which adds so much flavor before baking these bites in the oven.
I like to serve these with mustard, but you can use any condiment you want.
3. Puff Pastry Reuben Roll Ups
These Reuben roll-ups are delicious, easy to make and unique enough to impress your guests. The best part? No one will know that you only used a few ingredients to make this: puff pastry, deli-sliced corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, Thousand Island dressing and cream cheese.
Making these is really as simple as spreading the ingredients across a sheet of puff pastry, rolling up the pastry sheet and slicing it into bite-sized pieces. Bake for about 15 minutes and you’re ready to eat.
4. Irish Nachos
One of my favorite St. Patrick’s Day appetizers! It isn’t a traditional dish by any means, but your guests won’t be able to get enough of it – I guarantee that. These “nachos” consist of layers of crispy potatoes, shredded cheese, cooked bacon pieces, sliced jalapenos, tomatoes (or a little pico) and chopped green onions.
I recommend baking this in a cast iron skillet because you can take it straight from the oven to the table.

5. Easy Creamy Pickle Rolls
Here’s something unique to serve at your St. Patrick’s Day party – creamy pickle rolls. Each roll is filled with tasty dill pickle relish, fresh dill, cream cheese and ranch seasoning. Just mix all the filled ingredients together, spread it across the crescent roll dough, slice and bake.
These tasty rolls will pair well with any main dish you’re serving, and you can make them in advance if you want. They’re super easy to reheat in an air fryer.
6. Reuben Poppers
These poppers have all the classic St. Patrick’s Day ingredients, all rolled up into delicious bite-sized pieces. Thinly sliced corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, Dijon mustard and cream cheese all come together to create an explosion of flavor with each bite.
You can fry these the old-fashioned way, or you can use an air fryer for a healthier option. I like to serve these poppers with Russian dressing, but Thousand Island dressing will be just as tasty.
7. Tortilla Roll-Ups with Corned Beef, Green Olives and Scallions
These colorful roll-ups are perfect for St. Patrick’s Day, especially if you use green spinach tortillas.
The tasty filling includes corned beef, cream cheese, scallions, green olives and spices. Just spread the cream cheese mixture onto a tortilla, roll it up, slice, and serve. You can top with scallions if you want to add more color and flavor.
8. Irish Potato Bites
One of the most classic St. Patrick’s Day appetizers on this list. Bite-sized potatoes topped with cheese, corned beef and a dollop of sour cream.
Make sure that you’re using small red potatoes (or any small potato) for this recipe and not regular-sized russet potatoes. You only need a small amount of corned beef, which you can prepare yourself or use deli corned beef.
If you’re not a fan of corned beef, you can use bacon instead. I like to also add green onions and some fresh parsley as garnish once they’re ready to serve.
9. Reuben Bites
Looking for a simple but impressive appetizer? These bites are perfect. They’re a no-fuss dish that you can prepare ahead of time and serve with confidence that everyone will love them.
Making this appetizer is so easy. Slice your favorite rye bread into bite-sized pieces. Top each slice with Swiss cheese, corned beef and a spoonful of sauerkraut. Add a small spoonful of Thousand Island dressing on top and garnish with sliced green onions.
The author of this recipe recommends using dill rye, but feel free to use any type of bread you want (even if it’s not rye).
10. Easy St Patrick’s Day Charcuterie
Charcuterie boards are such a popular option at every holiday event that it should come as no surprise that one made it onto this year’s list. What I like about these types of appetizers is that you can really make them all your own and deviate from the recommendations.
However, the author of Celebrating Everyday Life has so many good recommendations that I’m sure you’ll use at least some of them for your charcuterie board.
She includes sugar snap peas, carrots, pretzels, green grapes, spinach tortilla wraps, herbed cream cheese bread and corned beef. In addition to these ingredients, she also adds marshmallow skewers, skittles, chocolate gold coins, cucumber roses and pumpernickel bread.
If you have kids or a sweet tooth like I do, you may want to swap out some of the veggies for various candies. With the gold coins, it’s impossible not to think of gold at the end of the rainbow when seeing this charcuterie board.
11. Stuffed Crescent Roll Carrots
Crescent roll carrots are a cute addition to the list and something kids will love seeing you serve. But they’re also delish. You’ll need crescent rolls, in which you’ll create little pockets using sheets of foil. Then, you’ll add cream cheese, fresh parsley, chives, lemon peels, salt and parsley.
While simple to assemble, you will need to spend some time creating the cone-shaped molds using foil.
A few items you’ll need to get started are:
If you want the carrot to look even more realistic, you can use a few sprigs of parsley as the carrot top.

12. Shamrock Shake Lasagna
I’ve never seen St. Patrick’s Day appetizers quite like this Lasagna. But it is a fancy-looking dish that can also double as a dessert because it includes:
- Cheesecake instant pudding
- Cool whip
- Mint extract
- Powdered sugar
- Oreos
- Cream cheese
- Butter
- Milk
Here’s a video to help you get started with this recipe:
13. Spinach Balls
Rachel Cooks offers directions for both an oven and air fryer variety of these spinach balls. I love using an air fryer for recipes like this because it makes the outer layer a little crispier. Versatile and delicious, you’ll only need spinach, eggs, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, onion, butter and seasoning for this recipe.
If you want something a bit more substantial, pair with a tomato soup.
Assembly is so easy because you’ll simply be combining ingredients, creating mini balls and baking on a baking sheet.
14. Guinness Cheddar Dip
Celebrating without Guinness is nearly impossible. And you can take it a step further with the help of Guinness Cheddar Dip. All you need are a pack of soft pretzels, cream cheese, garlic powder, green onions, Worcestershire sauce, salt, Irish cheddar cheese, brown mustard and Guinness beer.
From personal experience, this dip tastes good with chips, pretzels and nearly anything you can get your hands on.

15. Corned Beef Cabbage Rolls
Corned beef and cabbage are both common choices on St. Paddy’s Day, and this recipe combines them into a delectable wrap. You’ll start with a pound of corned beef, which you’ll boil with some seasoning for four hours.
While the beef is cooking, you’ll want to cut up potatoes, parsnips and carrots, which you’ll boil and then mash when soft enough.
Add a smidge of butter to make it easier for the ingredients to join together. You’ll then use your cabbage leaves as “wraps,” and layer your corned beef and the ingredients in the last step before rolling them up.
16. Dill Pickle Bites
When I created this list, my goal was to offer St. Patrick’s Day appetizers that provide options for everyone. These dill pickle bites are a good example for all of you pickle addicts out there reading this.
You’ll make mini pickle bites from:
- Baby dill pickles
- Cream cheese
- Mayo
- Onion
- Dried dill weed
- Black pepper
- White bread
And they’re so simple to make.
17. Bacon Ranch Pickle Poppers
Bacon ranch pickle poppers are exactly how they sound. Delicious pickle spears with cream cheese slathered on them and wrapped in bacon. Sprinkle on some seasoning and dip in ranch dressing.
And after you wrap your pickles, you’ll use a toothpick to keep everything in place and bake on a baking sheet for 15 – 20 minutes. It’s the perfect appetizer for St. Patrick’s Day and tastes delightful, too.
