The Best BBQ Shredded Chicken Recipe

Ingredients

  • cups BBQ sauce (use your favorite brand!)
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon  onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts

Instructions

  • Mix the sauce: In a bowl, whisk together the BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, onion powder, and garlic powder.
  • Add the chicken: Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker and pour the BBQ sauce mixture over them. Make sure they’re fully coated.
  • Cook: Set the slow cooker to high for 2-3 hours or low for 4-6 hours.
  • Shred the chicken: Once cooked, use two forks to shred the chicken right in the crockpot. Stir everything together so it soaks up all that flavorful sauce.
  • Serve and enjoy!
