Cupcake base
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 /3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/3 tsp baking powder
- 1/8 tsp baking soda
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 40 ml whole milk
- 40 ml vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp beaten egg
- 1/3 tsp vanilla extract
- 40 ml boiling water
Decor
- 12 pieces Oreo cookies cut in half to make 24 “bat wings”
- 1/4 cup melting chocolate
- 24 pieces candy eyes
Baking cupcakes
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 12-cup mini muffin pan with liners.
Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
In another bowl, whisk egg, milk, oil, and vanilla, then stir into dry mixture; add boiling water and mix until smooth.
Fill liners 2/3 full, bake 8–10 minutes, and cool completely before decorating.
Decorating cupcakes
Twist open Oreos, remove filling, and cut each cookie half into wings.
Melt chocolate and transfer to a piping bag.
Pipe chocolate on each cupcake side and press Oreo halves in place as wings.
Pipe two chocolate dots in the center and attach edible candy eyes.
